Historic Wonders at Bamburgh Castle

Acle Re-enactments: Step into the Past
From 3rd May to 25th August, Bamburgh Castle will come alive on selected weekends with Anglo-Saxon warriors, medieval knights, and traditional craftspeople. Visitors can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and stories of Bamburgh’s rich history, with live demonstrations included in the price of admission.

Live Jousting Spectacle
On 14th and 15th June, witness the thrill of medieval jousting as armoured knights compete in dramatic tournaments within the castle grounds. These popular events capture the excitement of the age of chivalry and are a highlight of Bamburgh’s summer calendar.

1940s Weekend
On 7th and 8th June, Bamburgh steps back to the 1940s with vintage music, military vehicles, reenactments, and wartime displays. It is a nostalgic celebration of a defining era in British history, perfect for history enthusiasts and families alike.

Castle Critters and Pirate School

Between May and October, children can enjoy a range of family activities at Bamburgh Castle, including Castle Critters, exploring the roles of medieval animals, and Pirate School from 21st July to 31st August, offering an imaginative voyage into the world of seafaring legends.

Budle Bay
A short distance from Bamburgh, Budle Bay is a peaceful estuary teeming with wildlife. Ideal for birdwatchers and walkers, it offers stunning views and a sense of tranquillity away from the crowds.

Puffins on the Farne Islands
